Xavi Hernandez, the manager of Barcelona, expressed his frustration as his team settled for a 2-2 draw against Mallorca in their recent LaLiga match.

Xavi attributed Barcelona’s failure to defeat Mallorca to two mistakes made by his players, resulting in the loss of two points.

The match between Barcelona and Mallorca at the Iberostar Stadium featured goals from Vedat Muriqi, Abdon Prats, Raphinha, and Fermin Lopez.

“The problem is that Mallorca took the lead due to a mistake on our part,” Xavi stated during the post-match press conference.

“Then, when we were at our best and equalized before halftime, they scored a second goal. Both goals resulted from mistakes on our part, which should not have happened.

“Despite creating chances, which we thought would be challenging, we conceded too much. It’s a mistake. We had control of the game, and I recall opportunities for Joao, Ferran, Rafa.”

He added, “Our defense needs improvement. Last season, we were solid and focused at the back. Today, we weren’t bad, but we made two mistakes that are unacceptable. It’s because of these mistakes that we dropped two points today.”

With the draw against Mallorca, Barcelona remains at the top of the La Liga table with 17 points from seven matches.

The Blaugrana will face Sevilla in their next La Liga encounter on Friday.
